What POS system would you choose if you were starting a small business in the UK today? I’m particularly interested in something with low upfront costs and no long-term contract. Can anyone help?
For me, the best POS system is one that doesn’t make running the business more complicated than it needs to be. Square is probably one of the first I’d consider for a small business, with Take Payments being another straightforward option. If you are in the hospitality sector, I’d also look at VitaMojo, Toast and TouchBistro.
POS systems need to be flexible and easy to set up for a small business. Some of the best POS systems that work really well when it comes to this are Square, Zettle, Zoho POS and Shop.
I’ve come across quite a few POS systems, but for a small business I’d probably start with EposNow or SumUp. They’re relatively straightforward to get up and running with. If you’re already using Shopify, its POS solution can also make sense, particularly if you want your online and physical sales in one place.
